More resilient people tend to have a higher pain tolerance
A recent study on emotional health and how this impacts on coping with pain has produced some interesting findings. This study looks at resilience. If you have resilience then you are able to cope with anything that comes your way. If you have resilience then you are also more able to cope with chronic pain. Gender does not play such a role in this ability to cope with pain as previously thought; it’s much more to to do with acceptance and the ability to get on with life by focusing on enhancing quality of life despite the pain.
