Men Feel Worse About Themselves When Female Partners Succeed
A new study in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology has found that men were more likely to feel subconsciously worse about themselves when their female partner succeeded than when she failed. The research found evidence that men automatically think of their partners success as their own failure. This is even when the couple are not in direct competition with each other.
So what do you think the researchers found when they looked at the opposite scenario; i.e. men succeeding? They discovered that women’s self esteem was not affected by their male partners’ success or failure. Interesting research!
