Dave Elliot a well known dating coach in the US uses the example of a recent celebrity break up   and the couples battle over a very expensive and very sparkly ring  as a platform for more discussion.  He reflects that the fight over the ring  is now about winning at all costs and saving face.  He takes a step back and states that although break ups can be extremely painful there can be positives  that can arise from them.  He takes both male and female perspectives  in turn  and concludes ‘It’s  not about the ring it’s about you’.
