Hello! I specialise in working with women who have depression, anxiety, stress, anger issues, addictions, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or who wish to explore and deal with trauma or abuse from their past and the impact it is having on their lives today.

My Philosophy

I am excited by the power of transformation and change for individuals and organisations and I believe in the courage and wholeheartedness of human nature and the potential we all have to make a positive difference in the world.

I have spent my career: in the public sector as a nurse, in higher education as an educator, in a national charity as a lead for learning and improvement and at Board level in three different health care organisations as a non-executive. I also volunteer at a Women’s Centre in Liverpool.

I have developed my psychotherapy practice alongside these roles and bring this wide range of experience to my practice.

I use an integrative therapeutic approach based upon what I believe will work for you. My training is in transactional analysis (TA) which provides a way of thinking that helps us to be more curious about ourselves and our relationship with others. It offers insights that stimulate change and transformation that I will freely share with you.

My Approach

In our work together I will:

-listen carefully to the story you present of your life.

-pay careful attention to what you believe is and isn’t working for you

-help you make sense of and develop meaning from your story

-support you to change, transform, grow and learn in a deep and sustainable way

Through the relationship we develop, you will increase your understanding and as a result, your own ability to change. We will identify together the root causes of the issues that you present and I will support you to re-frame the meaning you attach to what has happened to you. To do this I may at times challenge your thinking, or share theory as a tool to assist you to change unhelpful behaviours that are holding you back.

Whether you are seeking therapy to live a more fulfilling life, or to deal with stress, depression, or anxiety that may be holding you back, or to explore trauma from your past then I can help.

Who I Work With

I work with women who have relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress, depression, anger issues, addictions, problems with self- esteem and self-worth, work related issues, or have had a life changing event they are struggling to deal with.

I have experience and advanced training in working successfully with women who have experienced trauma or abuse.

I can also help you if you are unsure what is holding you back in life and you want to come to see me to help you find that out.

I am a qualified coach and have senior management experience and if you are having challenges at work I can integrate therapy with coaching.

I am registered as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), educated to Masters level with a Diploma in TA counselling and I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am bound by their code of professional ethics. I receive regular clinical supervision.

My Motivation

Through my personal and professional journey I have gained deep insights into how the patterns we establish at an early age in our childhoods can impact on our lives today – both emotionally and physically. This can cause stress and anxiety and a general feeling that we are not coping too well. I know that talking to an experienced skilled therapist in a confidential and trusting space can make all the difference in helping you connect, get ‘unstuck’ and move on.

Further Information

I charge £50 for a 50 minute session. I am happy to chat to you on the phone first to explore how we could work together if that helps. Do get in touch.
