I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and have almost twenty years experience working with children, young people and adults in mental health and education. In addition to working with private clients, I also work with a national anxiety charity as an Approved CBT Therapist.
I believe that positive psychology using compassion and kindness is an important part of therapy. I offer CBT in a genuine and respectful way so that you are able to develop new ways to make positive changes in your life.
I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) which is a structured form of therapy that is based on scientific research. By working together as equal partners, we will explore how your anxiety or depression is maintained and discover ways to break the vicious cycle.
Who I work with
I work with children and young people under the age of 18 and adults. CBT has been shown to effectively treat:
- Post traumatic stress
- Social anxiety
- Generalised anxiety
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Health anxiety
It is also used to help with issues such as
- non medical sleep problems
- Post natal depression
Humans are creatures of habit, we feel safe and secure when we have routines and stability in our lives. However, the world is ever changing and at some point, we will experience events that shake us up. By managing and even accepting change, we can learn that we have the power to make a positive difference to ourselves and the world around us. As a CBT therapist, I feel privileged to support others in achieving this.
